About Me:
I've been an SGM (Soka Gakkai Malaysia) members for about 19 years now. It was my younger sister who shakabuku me.
I used to be an active member till about 3 years ago when it got too difficult to stay active as I'm a care-giver to my mom who's an Alzheimer sufferer for over 4 years now.
I'm only practising at home which I know is entirely different from going out to activities and share with other like members. I just ask for forgiveness. Knowing that my mother is my shoten zenzin, I should be thanking her for giving me the strength to do my human revolution. Alas, it is easy said than done. But, I know I will get there and be MORE active like before.

NOTE: Please bear with me if I do not reply to your comment, etc, promptly as I'm still getting to know how this site work in some area!!!! Thank you for your patience!

WHAT AN INTERESTING SGI BUDDHISM SITE!

A big thank you to Bob Mann for inviting me to this wonderful site. I really enjoy reading the topics/subjects posted on this site. Some are really food for thoughts, too! I hope to contribute when I'm ready! And what's more is that the members are from all over the world who share their experiences including their video clips, photos, etc. Indeed, such beautiful SGI family here!

Hi Teresa,

Good progress on the move of my parents - Mom is all settled in and quite content. The house has a nice porch overlooking a beautiful little garden, and she sits outside most of the day. My dad is somewhat mystified by this, as he sees no reason to be outside if he is not driving. And - the driving must come to an end for him, which will be hard.

He had a hissy fit on Sunday, and threw a wrench into all the moving plans. So now we finish next weekend, right before leaving to go on a vacation! Please chant for him to find pace in his new home. It will be so wonderful for him, if he will just let it. Thank you my friend, for listening. I hope your mother is well, and that YOU are well also.

Hi, Teresa.

That isn't my bunny, I'm afraid. I started following the life of this one intriguing rabbit (who passed away several years ago) named Oolong (for Oolong Tea, I think), who learned to balance objects on his head. His owner delighted in this trick and began posting photos. While I searched the internet for Oolong's antics, I also found other cute bunnies who like to balance things on their head (or whose owners like to balance things on their bunnies' heads).

I had two bunnies; one of them, Momo, looked like the one that's posted right now whe she was a baby. She died 2-1/2 weeks ago. I still miss her terribly.

Welcome to Daily Encouragement Corner

Warmest wishes,
Noriyo Sekiyama

Dear Teresa,
We wish you and each member of your family well.

What about your friend in Belgium ? If she is interested and she is living in other areas of the country than us, we could find contacts with members there.

All the very best Paolo

Hi Teresa!

My birthday was lovely. I'll be going to my bday tomorrow though. But I got some great gifts and many phone calls from loved one. I think one of my gifts is a card from my 4 year old nephew. Thank you!!PhotobucketPhotobucket

Thank you for note! Yes, Morgan goes to pre-school 5 days per week, as my husband and I both work full-time. She loves it and is currently learning to read! I can't believe she's that grown up already. :) I hope you are doing well and wish you a lovely weekend. Thank you for writing.

Hi Teresa,

You asked such a lot of interesting questions, and I feel badly that I am so behind on writing! I'm trying to find a place for my parents to be cared for - my mom is in a terrible nursing home, and I can't get her out of there fast enough - it's eating up most of my time. I am so worried for her. She is 87 and unable to walk.

Thank you so much for your friendship and sweet letters. You are in my thoughts, and I will write when I can.

Is there anyone who could watch your mom for a short time, so that you could have a break? Caregivers need to take care of themselves too!

Hello Teresa,

We share a friend, Amy Kelly.
I was so touched that you are taking care of your mother. You have nothing to ask forgiveness for! It is a labor of love, and a true bodhisattva journey. She is lovely, btw, and so are you.

Thank you very much, Paolo. I think she mentioned about living near the city of Belgium. Her name is Karyn Somville and I'm sorry that I cannot divulge her email address here unless you've a personal email for me to forward your email, if you decide to do so, to her.
Thanks again, Paola. You're a wonderful and helpful person, too. My regards to you and your missus, Sivlia too.
