About Me:
A bodhisattva for all! :-) ;-)

NMRK
work in progress...
On October 12, 2004... I had a life changing experience, I had become
so wrapped up in what others thought or believed about me I forgot
the truth, so on that fateful day my coin was tossed and the doctors
gave me a 50-50 chance of survival. I was dead... they said, "If-I
survive I would probably be brain-dead and have to be hospitalized
for the rest of my life." Could you imagine what my mother must've
thought?? They were practically saying your kid is screwed :-(....
Anyway, I ended up being in a coma for five days, during which I
had an out of body experience that felt like it lasted a lot longer.
And that wasn't the first one... but I'll tell you more on that later.
Did you know that October 12 is the birthday of Gohonzon? I didn't
either until I read the Lotus Sutra. Which was quite a hard read,
but well worth it!

I remember when I first woke up from my coma. A doctor came in
and told me that I would never walk again. The first thought that
went through my mind was, you don't know me! I will walk again and
show everyone. Although at the time, I don't think I really knew what
everyone really meant. But now I do :-) ;-) and I'm sure with all of you
I can achieve my goal of walking. With your help when chanting! Please
do a little Sancho for me, E 'Olu'olu! E 'olu'olu is Hawaiian for please.
I really I'm glad that this web site finally came out. And I'd like
to continue sharing my story... but I don't wanna take up too much of
your time.

A little about myself, Determined, honest, sweet, funny, strong, imaginative
smart, excepting, willing, a little impulsive... sometimes indecisive, which
usually turns out to be a good thing. I like to listen to my Na'au or gut.
It's usually right! I love the fact that I'm Hawaiian. Proud of my language
and I love my culture, language, government, I am a citizen of the Hawaiian
Kingdom! ;-) :-)
I really like artwork... and going to the museum, and Kauai has a great one!
I Love My Parents, they are what keep me alive and just want the best for me
in every aspect of my life... which can sometimes be trouble some ;-). But,
I respect them and hold them in the highest place! I have a lot of people
in my life that truly care about me! And I just want to say Thank You to all
of them! Friends truly keep you in the right space. Most the time ;-) :-).
I love the ocean, getting to go down and enjoy the bike path. Cruising with
friends! I'm into tattoos, and have two of my own, soon to be more!
I have my left ear pierced... which was not my choice. I was born in Zürich,
Switzerland (which is exactly on the opposite side of the world). In Zürich
it was the custom, if you came from a wealthy family, to pierce the left ear.
So what are you Aukai? Hawaiian or Swiss... well both as well as a little
Italian, Portuguese with a spot of Irish. So that's where I get my temper...
;-) :-). And I love my puppy dog! His name is Kupa'a and he's a sweet boy!
Kupa'a means loyalty. Which he totally is!
I love our Buddhist practice! And try to do Gongyo everyday!NMRK! In fact
I am the YMDL for our district. And if you would like to discuss Gosho, I
would be more than happy too.
It would seem that I've taken up a little bit more of your time. If you'd
like to know a little more, why not IM me or leave me a comment.

Aloha!
Malama Pono!
A Hui Ho!
-Aukai
PS
Aloha has three meanings, hello actually welcome, goodbye and love
Malama Pono means take good or righteous care (Maika'i is good)
A Hui Ho means until next time
FYI

you wanna learn Hawaiian,
there are only 13 letters in the Hawaiian alphabet... a very simple language, one word can have many different meanings. The first step to learning more Hawaiian is to pronounce the vowels correctly. The vowels being E pronounced like the English long a pronounced like amazing, A pronounced like the English long e sounds like hey, I pronounced like the English short i sounds like the double ee in three, O pronounced like the long vowel or like the English word OK, U pronounced like like the English word you.
More to come...

My thoughts on the super fairy... ;-) I mean superferry :-(

Shame on Linda Lingle!

Wasting the taxpayers money, right now it's cheaper to fly.
Maybe she didn't waste the money but it could have been spent
on much better things, then a boat the locals can't afford.
You know how much a round trip ticket cost on the superferry?

Slow Gongyo?! What do you think??

What you think...

I guess it's all about personal preference, but I think, Gongyo should be
done at a slow and steady pace. Not like achingly slow..., but at a slow
enough pace so that you have to pronounce every single syllable of Gongyo!
I mean were in church because we want to be together and chant together
but let's do it at a pace that we can all follow beginners and all!
I know I always feel better going slower and thinking of happy thoughts,
things I need…

I like your page and your story. You are right, you will ABSOUTELY walk again one day. I love the "Genereal Stone Tiger Gosho", where the king shoot an arrow thru the rock. I have a daughter who lives in honolulu, and my wife's son lives in kona. I was there for the first time in oct of last year, and wow, for the first time in my life i felt like i was enbrassed by nature. I will think of you when i chant.

Yes, it seems chanting has a way of precipitating miracles.
I hope this day brings you all kind of good stuff!

To My Lovely Friends- wishing you all a new Beginning, Happy Easter and a Sweet Weekend

The naked earth is warm with Spring,
And with green grass and bursting trees
Leans to the suns kiss glorying,
And quivers in the sunny breeze.

Those who believe in the Lotus Sutra are as if in winter, but winter
always turns to spring.
