R.I.P. Dad...

I just found out a couple of hours ago that my Step-Father has passed away from "hairy-celled" leukemia. Carl was a fighter to the end, he had been fighting the leukemia on and off for 30 years. He was there for me in the worst time of my life, when my Mother was killed. But, he was also there for some of my best memories. Rest In Peace Carl, you will truly be missed. I wish we had one more day together. No more fighting, not more pain. Roger.

Sometimes it is hard...

Sometimes it is hard not to hurt when you see those that you love hurt. Sometimes it is hard to to become angry when you feel someone you love is making a monumental life decision that you feel is a terrible mistake. Sometimes it is hard not to give advice when it is unsolicited, even if you intentions are benevolent. Sometimes it is hard to just stand back and allow people to make their own decisions, when due to age and life you feel wiser and more knowledgeable Sometimes it is hard… Continue

Kind of bummed, though I shouldn't be...

Usually the weekends are mellow, laid back and easy. Today a resident came and told me that they had a bad leak coming from their ceiling in their shower area. I checked it out and went to the dorm on the second floor. I went into the four man room above the room that had the leak. It sounded as someone was in the shower. I knocked on the door and a young man opened the door. He saw who it was and the first thing he said was, "Oh $hit!". The smell of weed almost knocked me over and I think I got… Continue

DMSO & Daimoku

I finally found something that has greatly reduced the pain in my neck, shoulder, arm, elbow and wrist. My hand still remains numb, but that is something I would rather live with than chronic severe pain... The substance is called DMSO or Dimethyl Sulfoxide, (CH3) SO. Add this natural substance to Daimoku and you have a knockout combo. It is a byproduct of sawmills that make pine lumber. The sawdust from the mills is steeped in water and the finished result is DMSO. It was outlawed by the FDA f… Continue

Today was a good news bad news kind of day in regards to my work related injury. The good news is no ruptured discs. The bad news, I have degenerative disc disease, and they have no clue what is causing my pain... I have to go see a specialist and also start physical therapy. I have been to the work med place three times and never had the same Doctor twice. Today I had a male Nurse Practitioner. He kind of gave me some attitude like I was faking or something. He wasn't going to fill out my FMLA… Continue

Hey Budog,
Just came home from a road trip and got to see a bit of your part of the country. Lucky you for the landscape you live in.

hi bulldog,

i read your post concerning your family. I will chant for you and your family. I have only one 14 year old son and to me the most hardest suffering is when your children are needing your support. does your daughter chant? maybe it's time for her to chant.
best regards to you family,
kumi

Interesting to see that you're still skating. So is my son who is 32 - and it's a passion for him, not a sport or hobby. Watched "Lords of Dogtown" with him a few months ago and found it quite interesting. Personally I never got around to staying more than three seconds on the board, though. LOL
