About Me:
Curious and open minded about this site. I have a greater comfort level being part of this community knowing SGI Buddhists make up the bulk of clientele. I was introduced to the practice by my mother in 1968...later became a member in 1975. The leadership experience and training I received as a YMD all those years ago still sustains me in the corporate world. the lessons and experience are invaluable!

What is the purpose of this site? Please feel free to share your insights with me on why you chose to be a member of this site and what benefits you have experienced as a result?

I'll be more than happy to share about myself with interested Bodhisattvas!

Welcome Ken!

Happy early May 3rd!

I was at the opening ceremony of Soka University of America on May 3rd, 2001. As you may know, President Ikeda spoke about May 3rd, 2001 for well over 30 years as a target date. After being in SGI most of my life and chanting toward that target date, it felt very strange when it finally came and went and what was different on that day?

President Ikeda says Education is the final endeavor of his life. I hope all SGI members can grasp what the significance of this endeavor is in our own lives.

Toward realizing this endeavor, I've put one of the lectures that was recently delivered at Soka University of America and podcasted on www.soka.edu on the music section of my profile.

It's a lecture from Professor Chalmer's Johnson, and I think it is very crucial that everyone considers his perspective on what is going on in the world right now and what we should do as disciples of sensei to lead a way to positive change all around the world.

I will try to put up other lectures from SUA soon on my music section, so check back with it.

Also you can listen to other such lectures from SUA at www.soka.edu.

Education is a lifelong endeavor we should all make a part of our lives and our human revolution.

Take care, Timothy

Welcome to the site. I joined because I am always happy to have another opportunity to meet other SGI members and discuss Buddhism. This is a wonderful site because it is dedicated to dialogue about Nichiren Buddhism and mutual support and encouragement. I hope that through this site the SGI will be an even more tightly-knit community. Already I can see how quickly we are growing and concretely providing each other with inspiration on many levels!

Ken, That was some daimoku! Patrick found a chef job in Carderock MD. He'll be working all week. It's about 40 miles commute from where he's staying. Do you know of any members who may want to rent out a room in an area that's close by? Maybe Bethesda or NOVA? If so, Please let him know. Here's his mobile: 240-461-0434. Many Thanks~ Laura

Kenny, How are you man! Looking great~ Patrick is in DC area right now looking to do work out of town with catering. Biz is not so much slow in Orlando, but salaries are very low. It's always such a benefit to have the D.C. members around. We grew up with them and always a powerful lifeblood of faith encouragement to be had. Hope things are well with you. If you ever want to give me a call, 407 810 2882

P.S. It's been 20 years since our Tozan to Taisekeji! Can you believe it...

Hi Kenny! Long time no see. Met up with Rex Wilson down at Ocean City last week. Hadn't seen him in 16 yrs (I think). Dude, you're still single like me? Rex, too. Something definitely is wrong with us old guard YMD. :-D

best,

Dan
