I have no idea how to judge a kata, but from my very amature eyes, it looks great! My husband is travelling on business now but I'll have him take a look and see what he thinks. How long has Brian been teaching and involved in karate? Does he have his own school? My husband would love to do that for a living instead of his current programming job!

Also, is Brian your husband? I just checked out his kata -- it looks like karate. My husband, Rick is a martial artist too -- studied kempo karate (combo of karate, kung-fu, taekwan-do, kick-boxing) for 20 years in the Bay Area. He is now taking Taekwan-do in Japan as is my 6 year old daughter. They both love it!!
