During our travels, we visited a girls orphanage to whom we had donated funds to start a pastries program; a dental clinic in a village which we had initiated last year by providing the dental chair and equipment; a hospital, a university, schools and more. I was awarded the key to the city and a medal for my contributions to the people of Ecuador.
In Mexico I did get to meet the Vice President and Ambassador of Ecuador along with other high level officials of vairous Latin American countries. The recent ratification of the UN Convention on the RIghts of Persons with Disabilities called for a conference to be held in Mexico with key leaders that would have a say on this issues, as a result I needed to be there so that the voices of persons with disabilities in the Americas could be represented as laws, rules and regulations are being drawn.
I am back in Chicago with a great deal of work as we prepare for our Health and Education travel mission in July for Ecuador.
I love my life as I am strenghthened by NMRK
