About Me:
Greetings SGI Family!!!
I celebrated my first year in this wonderful practice on February 28th. I can remember the day I received my Gohonzon (in White Plains New York. I practice all over the city but Fordham Hill is my main district)- I felt like I was shot into the sun. I couldn't stop smiling. I'm still striving to keep smiling and making others smile. I'm here to share the beauty, love and humor to our wonderful practice. Life is hard enough and I believe we need the balance of the two.

More about me: Love, Music, Passion, Laughter, multi-tasking, psychology, research, artist, dancing, kisses, photography, all things kawaii, creativity, sexuality, loves drummers :P, I have a music & film encyclopedia in my head, freckles, Filipino, Puerto Rican, French Creole, Irish, kisses, no habla espanol, a sister, aunt, girlfriend, can quote corny movie lines w/ my sis, owns a toolbox, all goes sense of humor, loves to accessorize, delicious embraces, build and fix things, cooking, romance, kisses, gerbera purple daisies, water lilies, lilacs, pink roses, shoe and bag crazy, anything silver or chrome, Wonder Woman, collecting Barbie, I Love Lucy & Betty Boop memorabilia, kisses, anything retro or vintage looking, taebo, pilates, kisses, following the moon, the smell of rain, a beautiful summer shower, lovely fresh white snow, watching classic films with my boyfriend, kisses, destiny cards, tarot readings, astrology, cheese lovah, chocolate shakes, the perfect burger, sushi, seafood, italian food, shopping for and wrapping the perfect gift, and more kisses!!

There is no true happiness for human beings other than chanting Nam-myoho-renge-kyo… Suffer what there is to suffer, enjoy what there is to enjoy. Regard both suffering and joy as facts of life, and continue chanting Nam-myoho-renge-kyo, no matter what happens. How could this be anything other than the boundless joy of the Law? Strengthen your power of faith more than ever.

Love~ Happiness~ Belly Laughs

May you find serenity and tranquility in a world you may not always understand. May the pain you have known and the conflict you have experienced give you the strength to walk through life facing each new situation with courage and optimism. Always know that there are those whose love and understanding will always be there, even when you feel most alone. May you discover enough goodness in others to believe in a world of peace. May a kind word, a reassuring touch, and a warm smile be yours every day of your life, and may you give these gifts as well as receive them. Remember the sunshine when the storm seems unending
Teach love to those who hate, and let that love embrace you as you go out into the world. May the teachings of those you admire become part of you, so that you may call upon them. Remember, those whose lives you have touched and whose have touched yours are always a part of you, even if the encounters were less than you would have wished. It is the content of the encounter that is more important than the form

May you not become too concerned with material matters, but instead place immeasurable value on the goodness in your heart. Find time each day to see beauty and love in the world around you. Realize that each person has limitless abilities, but each of us is different in our own way. What you feel you lack in the present may become one of your strengths in the future. May you see your future as one filled with promise and possibility. Learn to view everything as a worthwhile experience. May you find enough inner strength to determine your own worth by yourself, and not be dependent on anothers judgment of your accomplishments. May you always feel loved. I am honored to call you my friend!
(Thank you David Harrison)

**Disclaimer- The opinions, thoughts and artwork expressed here solely my own (unless otherwise noted). I starting making my photos as a way to explain my feelings about the practice in a visual way. The inner artist in me thought that by merging beautiful guidance with art- I can move and tap into another part of ourselves. As someone new to the practice with tons of visualizations it made perfect sense. How can I convey these pearls of wisdom in a way that I can understand more. The graphics are for also for entertainment purposes to invoke laughter and smiles to our hearts. They are not to be taken seriously. But my practice I take seriously. Its not my intention to offend anyone. :D Thank you**

Be Steps Ahead from your Devilish Functions

Today I had many thoughts and questions about devilish functions. Everyone knows what they look like or do they? They can be so transparent to some people. So obvious. Ever wonder why they keep disturbing us right where we live ( our financial pockets, relationships, etc). For example… Continue

My Experience with Visualizing Devilish Functions & Forgiveness

I visualize my devilish functions as gangsters in a 40's style film-noir. They linger in the shadows, in dark corners, up on rooftops, sitting in cars- awaiting for the very moment to make their move on you. So when you experience just a bit or slither of happiness- you can bet - they will appear, right on schedule, on time..ringing your doorbell, jumping out from those s… Continue

What does Nam-myoho-renge-kyo mean?

What does Nam-myoho-renge-kyo mean? Here we are, living in the 21st century. At times, it may have seemed unlikely that humankind would make it to this time. Wars and conflicts, droughts and famines, economic, environmental, psychological and physical problems; the advances of the twentieth century were not able to resolve these issues. Our planet, seemingly robust, remains remarkably f… Continue

What Love Is Not

“Love is not love...” As Shakespeare once wrote (Sonnet 116), what seems to be love sometimes may not be love at all. As much as the subject of love occupies many people’s minds (and perhaps much of their time and money), their greatest concern seems usually confined to finding love or becoming lovable in the eyes of others, rather than the meaning of love or the capacity for loving. The underlying as… Continue

Hi There!
Was browsing through your really beautiful page....
What puzzles me though is ... in some of the pictures
Where is the 'Ho' in the chant? Its 'Nam Myoho Renge Kyo' as per what I have been taught.
Warm Regards,
Shikha
