Profile Information

About Me:: Hello, I started practicing this Buddhism in Los Angeles in October, 1983. I practiced as a YWD, participating in drill dance and Byakiren until I had my son Austin in 1991. My most treasured YWD experience was being able to perform for President Ikeda as a 6-month member in San Diego in March, 1984.

Andy Fehrenbach, Austin and I moved to Dayton, Ohio in 1992 to raise our son near Andy's family. My practice suffered quite a bit as I was no longer among the "glitter and lights" of LA and you really have to have a self motivated practice in the Mid-West.

My practice came back around in 2001 when I met some amazing members in Columbus, OH. I made a determination to move there and get a job and within 3 months I was able to do so. My practice flourished under the wonderful encouragement and inspiration of many amazing members in the Columbus area.

I got involved in the GLBT meetings in Columbus and have attended 3 GLBT FNCC conferences over the last several years.

I met my life-partner Pam in March, 2003. She joined this practice in April, 2004 and is very involved in all activities and the GLBT meetings.

Over these past 25 years of my practice, I've come to know at the core of my being that the most important thing in this life is to strive to be happy and to help others do the same. One of my favorite ND quotes and I'm paraphrasing is that "when you light the way for others, you also light it for yourself".

I pray with deep appreciation daily that I have this practice to bolster myself and those around me.
