Dear Chris,

First of all - since I never did it - I wish thanking you VERY MUCH for having created this community.
Although my time for contributing is rather limited, when I receive a message I usually take the occasion for visiting new sections and members' pages ... I always feel well afterwards, I like very much to see people around the world who are living the challenge of practising our Buddhism...

I appreciate very much the members who share their experiences on the site, I appreciate those who take time for sending something to others - I am especially grateful to LoFlo, for her colourful creativity and her being freely emotional.

I don't think that the content of the site should be limited, Buddhism is life, and there is everything in life. Possibly, a content we dislike may be the occasion for starting dialogue with someone who has different perspectives (on the assumption that all participants here are really SGI members ...).

On the issue of groups deletion ... I am a bit puzzled. On one side the will of the one who started the group ... on the other the autonomous entity of something shared...anyhow, a group can always be recreated - as it happened ...

I really think this community is a great resource....for example, since I travel a lot for job reasons, I might find a contact with members in a country where otherwise I would be a bit lost....

Many thanks again to you and to all who participate with kindness and respect for different approaches and attitudes.

All the very best - Ciao Ciao Paolo

Hi Paolo,
I just can't help but asking, are you Italian? Not only the name, but the "ciao ciao" at the bottom of you post makes me think you are. Are there Italian members in this group? I am from Rimini, Italay, and live in the USA since 1992. I have never practiced in Italy, although that is where a met NMRK for the first time many many many years before I began practicing, so it would be nice to know other members here who are from my mother land.
Take care

Ciao Lora !

Yes I am Italian, living in Belgium and working in Luxembourg.
Glad to hear from you ! My father was from Rimini.
I started practising and received the Gohonzon in Roma.
But I don't have any personal direct contact with SGI members living in the US.
Surely you will find many anyway, possibly through this very message.
Stai bene ! Paolo

Paolo, il mondo e' piccolo, non posso credere che tuo padre e' di Rimini. (^_^)

Paolo, it's a small world, I cannot believe that your father is from Rimini!

Molto piacere, grazie a te gia' ho localizzato altri due Italiani in questo gruppo.

It is indeed a pleaser, thanks to you I already have found two more Italians in this group.

Salutami i membri del Belgio
Ciao

I appreciate the effort to create bonding integration of multicultural systems by SGI and promotion of the concept " Unity in Diversity" transcending differences.

I appreciate the nature of the folks that have joined this community. We shoud all strive to be open and find common ground in all endeavours.
We have a forum and a community that, not only narrows the distance between us bringing us even closer, but gives us a way to really develop long and lasting ties through friendship and dialogue, just as Sensei wants us to.
I have to say thanks to Chris for this wonderful forum, and to the rest of us, no matter what our personal feelings are, we must find that common ground that would help us to love each other for what we are- Disciples of Nichiren Daishonin.

Obviously, I appreciate this site, but the bottom line is that everyone who enjoys this site is able to read.

Last November, I wanted to give back to the world, and started thinking about what I really appreciate, and how could I "pay that forward"? I decided that what I really apprciated is that I am able to read (think about it - my thoughts are going into your brain through the medium of squiggles on this computer screen - it's actually sort of mind-bending!) In order to repay my debt of gratitude for being able to read, I decided to volunteer as a literacy tutor through my local public library.

Since, November, I have been working with the same pupil, a wonderful fellow, 50 years old, who never learned how to read. He has made great progress, and we really enjoy riding together in his truck, reading the street signs and billboards.

I would recommend that the members here sit down and think about what in their lives they would like to pay forward, and get out there and do it, with "no strings attached" - just out of the sheer joy of sharing something you love. My literacy volunteering work has been one of the most rewarding things I have done in years!

Stay well and happy, everyone - Byrd in LA

I appreciate my family and I appreciate the support of my sgi members since I have been practicing, and through practicing I have made wonderful new network of friends. This practice has taught me not to take things for granted in my life.

I appreciate President Diasaku Ikeda guidance that has helped me through times of difficulty in my life.
